Johnson Cashway Lumber Company was founded in the 1940s when it was known as Gering Lumber. In 1950 it was purchased and was primarily owned by L.W. Johnson. During this time the name was changed from Gering Lumber to Johnson Cashway Lumber Company. The business was operated under this ownership until 1976 when the Doll family bought the stock. Keeping the same name and location, the Doll family members have been involved in the daily operation of the company to this day.
